In the summer of 2013, Slinger High School was the recipient of a "Bringing It Home" grant sponsored by the Wisconsin Teachers of Local Culture and funded by the National Endowment of the Arts and the State of Wisconsin. A committee was started consisting of Slinger Area community members and teachers to research various aspects of Slinger Area History/Culture. One of the categories of research was art. This art website is the result of that research within the geographic area of the Slinger School District starting in the 2013-2014 school year.
NOTE: This website doesn't currently reflect all the arts and crafts in the Slinger area. In addition, art students selected what they see as art or craft initially based a bit on what they see as mediums they've worked on in class. There is certainly "Everyday Art" that could be categorized as art dependent on the viewer/person.
For the time being, we've arranged the work into two categories: Arts and Crafts. The layout of this website is subject to change.
