Compared to the larger nearby communities of West Bend, Hartford, Cedarburg, and Milwaukee, the towns and villages within the Slinger School District area may not have a major visible arts and crafts cultural scene, but Slinger students have uncovered several arts and crafts examples in the Slinger Area. Students will add to this page as they collect more evidence.
This art web page started with a couple driving questions: 1) Is there art being made with the Slinger Area as the subject? 2) Where is the art in the Slinger Area? Click on the Community Art Document link below to see the introduction statements by two senior sociology/art students in 2013-2014 that drove their research. (Mallory Schoenke, web page design, 2014)
Below that document link is a video produced by Educational Television Productions/NEW featuring 2016 Slinger art student, Julia Gueller. The video was added when students researched Manufacturing, Innovation, and Design themes. This video documents Science, Technology, Education, Art, and Math (STEAM) at Slinger HS. Please go back to the main page at www.slingerhistoryculture.com and click on the MBW picture to find out more about innovation and design research that students conducted during the 2015-2016 school year.
